About Drag Coven

The Drag Coven is a pair of Canadian drag artists who travel far and wide to document as much, and as many kinds of, drag as humanly possible. Through live show photography and videography, queer fem co-creators Courtney Conquers and Ja’mie Queen West have spent over half a decade attempting to archive the current unprecedented trend in drag as a prominent facet of pop culture. At the same time, they’ve done their best to portray its authentically queer roots by documenting drag from as many different places, and performed by as many different kinds of people, as they can reach. Drag Coven is a platform that strives to highlight drag artists for the purposes of appreciation and networking, while at the same time providing fans with free online drag content that’s accessible above and beyond real-world boundaries.

Since 2014, Drag Coven has amassed a larger social media following than was ever anticipated. This required its members to hit the ground running and learn new skills in a hands-on way. Now, as a team, Drag Coven provides live show photography and videography, portrait photography and retouching, video editing, written content, social media coverage, event promotions, talent assisting, show casting and consultation, stage management, performances and hosting, audio, video, and written interviews, speaking appearances, and occasionally custom creation or alteration of costume pieces.

Having documented thousands of drag artists and shows across North America (and even in the UK and Europe), Drag Coven’s platform has become the largest and most thorough contemporary online drag media archive to date.

About

Courtney conquers

Courtney Conquers is a drag artist and archivist, writer, consultant, public speaker, and live show videographer. She is best known for her work as part of the queer media collective Drag Coven (she's the short one who films the videos). Courtney has a Master of Arts in Women’s and Gender Studies from Carleton University in Canada and is an outspoken advocate for diversity and inclusion in drag and queer spaces. She also regularly promotes, coordinates, talent handles, and casts drag events throughout North America. When she’s not traveling for her own gigs, assisting other drag performers, holding a video camera, or writing about drag and queer fem issues, Courtney can usually be found knitting.

About

jamie queen west

Ja’mie Queen West is a drag artist and archivist, live show and portrait photographer, crafting master, makeup artist, and budding costume designer. Although she’s primarily known for her work in the queer media collective Drag Coven (she’s the taller one who takes the pictures), you’ve probably also seen her impressive recreations and cosplays of other drag artists and Lady Gaga. Jamie’s wide array of skills make her a valuable asset to just about anyone; she’s an experienced talent assistant, an efficient and creative video editor and photo retoucher, and she makes funnier custom t-shirts than you’ll ever find in stores. When she’s not editing photos or crafting, you can definitely find her organizing something with a clipboard in hand.
